Lane, Andersson pace MOC women's golf team

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Virginia Lane and Emelie Andersson placed among the top 16 out of 72 golfers as No. 47-ranked Mount Olive finished eighth out of 14 teams during the World Golf Village Women's Invitational.
The 36-hole tournament was the Trojans' spring opener.
After tying a school record with a 315 in the first round Sunday, Mount Olive recorded a 328 Monday for a 36-hole score of 643.
Lane finished with a 155 to tie for 13th place. Andersson rallied from a first-round 81 with a 75 Monday to tie for 16th with a 36-hole score of 156.
Julie Loennechen (163) tied for 34th, Emy Ohling (170) tied for 48th and Stef King (177) finished 60th.
MOC returns to action March 3 in the AASU Pirate Invitational in Savannah, Ga.
