Lane leads MOC women on golf links

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Virginia Lane is just three shots out of first place on the individual leaderboard and Mount Olive is fifth out of 14 teams after opening-round play of the World Golf Village Invitational.
The Trojans matched a school record for lowest team score with a 315.
Lane carded a 1-over-par 73 and stands in third place out of 72 golfers. She shot an even-par 36 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine. Her round included two birdies and 13 pars.
Julie Loennechen shot matching 40's and is tied for 22nd with an 80. Emelie Andersson (81) and Emy Ohling (81) are tied for 28th, while Stefany King shares 60th place with an 89.
