Girls' basketball
Bethel Christian 41, Wayne Christian 31
* Senior Brooke Barfield and Kelsey Kornegay each flirted with a double-double during Wayne Christian's 41-31, non-conference loss to Bethel Christian at Clifford Gymnatorium on Saturday afternoon.
Barfield tallied a team-high 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Kornegay supplied nine points and 10 rebounds.
Kaylee Wallace collected nine rebounds. Katie Isenhower, Emily Wells and Victoria Combs also scratched in the scoring column for the Eagles.
Boys' basketball
Bethel Christian 63, Wayne Christian 47
* Connor Rivero led three players in double figures with 17 points, and Bethel Christian handed Wayne Christian a 63-47, non-conference loss at Clifford Gymnatorium on Saturday afternoon.
Dylan Smith paced the Eagles with 16 points, five rebounds and three steals. Matt Wells chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
Wayne Christian (1-12 overall) plays host to Neuse Baptist on Tuesday.
