Southern Wayne girls rout Jones Senior

DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne completed its regular-season sweep of Jones Senior with a 53-31 triumph Tuesday evening.
The Saints overcame a slow start in the first quarter and raced out to a double-digit lead by halftime, thanks to 12 second-quarter points from freshman guard Cierra Thompson.
Southern Wayne put the game away in the opening minutes of the third quarter with a 15-2 run that spanned nearly five minutes of play.
Thompson led the Southern Wayne offense with 16 points. Keajah Wilson added 13 points in the win and Latrecia Johnson tallied 10 points.
Southern Wayne (3-2 overall) is the guest of Goldsboro on Friday.
