Lakewood cruises past Rosewood girls

SALEMBURG -- Lexi Mercer led three players in double figures with 15 points in Rosewood's 63-48, non-conference loss to perennial Class 1-A powerhouse Lakewood on Tuesday evening.
Alicia Burns and Krystal Yelverton chipped in 14 and 10 points, respectively. Holly Heath scored eight.
Desiree Baker emerged the top rebounder.
The Eagles trailed 21-4 after one quarter and whittled away at the deficit the remainder of the game.
Rosewood (1-3 overall) travels to Charles B. Aycock today.
