Glass paces Chargers in the pool

Wayne Country Day junior Robert Glass posted a pair of top-four individual times and helped the 200 free relay place fourth overall during an independent schools meet contested at the Goldsboro Family Y on Monday evening.
Glass took fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.68 seconds and captured fourth in the 100 free with a time of 1:04.38. He was joined on the relay team by seventh-grader Zan Pittman, John Thompson and James Thompson. The quartet placed fourth in 2:07.49.
Pittman secured second place in the 200 individual medley (2:35.69) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:21.58).
Wayne Christian's foursome of Hunter Timmerman, Daniel Peel, Nathan Clark and Connor Jones combined for an eighth-place time of 2:27.31 in the 200 free relay. Jones ended up seventh in the 100 backstroke in 1:53.47.
On the girls' side, Wayne Christian's Danielle Gentry and Wayne Country Day's Kate Thompson seized sixth and seventh place, respectively, in the 50 free. They touched the wall a mere .33-hundredths of a second apart from each other.
Gentry and Thompson grabbed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100 free. The Chargers' Kennedy Dalton placed ninth in the same event.
Wayne Country Day's quartet of Dalton, Thompson, Catherine Langston and Anna Rains swam a fourth-place time of 2:24.19 in the 200 free relay.
