MOUNT OLIVE -- Six Mount Olive College cross country runners earned spots on the 2012 NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region men's and women's teams.

Senior Ronnie Sturgill and three freshmen -- Dylan Lafond, Aki Kitagawa and Mike Munoz -- represent the Trojan men. Juniors Amber Thompson and Chelsea Long are the women's selections.

The Trojan men placed second in the Southeast Region and earned their second straight trip to the NCAA Division II championship meet scheduled for Nov. 17 at Joplin, Mo. Lafond finished seventh overall in individual competition and was one of four Trojans to break the 33-minute barrier in the regional meet.

Thompson placed sixth overall in the women's portion of the race and just missed qualifying for the national championships. Long, a national meet participant last season, ended up 12th overall and missed the top 10 by just four seconds.
