HOLLY RIDGE -- Spring Creek played an even first half with rival Dixon on Friday night. The Bulldogs got the better of the Gators in the second half and walked off with a 33-7 victory.

"I thought we played as well defensively in the first half as we have played all season," Spring Creek head coach Aaron Sanders said. "We just couldn't keep it going in the second half and they got away from us a little bit."

Dixon took an early lead with a touchdown on the opening drive of the game. Spring Creek answered minutes later when DeVante Faison found the end zone and Anthony Russo tied the contest at 7-7 with the extra point.

The teams remained tied until early in the third quarter when the Bulldogs broke free for touchowns on back-to-back possesions and put the game away.

Faison led the Gators with 44 yards passing on six completions and added 43 yards on the ground on 17 carries.

Spring Creek (0-5 overall) plays host to Princeton next week.
