An offsides call negated a possible game-tying scoring chance, and Community Christian nipped Wayne Christian, 3-2, on the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference scene Friday.
Matt Jackson's header off Chris Easom's assist knotted the contest at 1-all in the opening half. Easom tallied a second-half goal to close the Cyclones' advantage to 3-2.
Wayne Christian goalies Mason White, who left the game due to an injury, and Jamie Tucker combined for nine saves between the pipes.
The Eagles (3-4-0 overall, 3-3-0 CCC) travels to Grace Christian of Sanford on Tuesday.
