Baird, Hawks shut out Cougars in soccer

North Lenoir completed a regular-season sweep of Goldsboro with a 6-0 win on Tuesday night.
Oscar Avila scored three goals for the Hawks. Doerico Sutton supplied two goals and Michael Allred also scored. Kevin Robinson, Justin Shimer and Caleb Baird each contributed an assist.
Baird recorded eight saves in goal and earned North Lenoir's first shutout of the season.
The Hawks (3-5-1 overall) entertain Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference foe South Johnston today, while the Cougars (1-6-0) play host to Nash Central.
