JV sports

* Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Wayne Country Day 25-22, 25-20 -- Jennifer Potts had seven kills for the Eagles. Ashley Harrelson added six aces. Olivia Dively supplied four aces and two digs for the Chargers.

* Volleyball: Jones Senior d. Goldsboro 25-21, 21-25, 25-17 -- Shamonica Artis had five aces for the Cougars and Maddie Jara contributed four aces.

* Volleyball: North Pitt d. Greene Central 25-20, 25-22 -- Morgan Mokus finished with seven kills and two aces for the Rams. Rebecca Webb and Sarah Carr both had three kills.

* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 1, Wayne Christian 0 -- John Thompson scored the game's only goal on an assist from Noah Adkins.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Wayne Christian 25-17, 12-25, 25-13 -- Cheyenne Canuette recorded nine aces for the Chargers. Olivia Dively contributed seven aces. Wayne Country Day (1-0) visits Oakwood on Sept. 6.
