JV football: Best powers Warriors' running game

DEEP RUN -- KK Best rushed for 207 yards and a touchdown during Eastern Wayne's 22-15, non-conference triumph over South Lenoir on Thursday evening.
Larry Newsome returned a kickoff 75 yards for a TD, while James Franks returned an interception 40 yards for another TD. Best tossed a two-point conversion pass to Ricky Steiner after Franks' score.
Franks and Kevin Larson paced the Eastern Wayne defense with eight stops apiece. The duo combined for five assists. Best added seven tackles and two assists.
Eddie Kincaid recovered two fumbles.
