PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock swept the singles and doubles courts during a 9-0 victory over Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference rival Cleveland on Thursday afternoon.
Top-seeded Ashton Walker, Katie Gurley, Rachel Jackson, Kimber Pender, Casie Belom and Cassidy Coerver each claimed a straight-set singles win. Walker and Pender each shut out their respective opponent.
Walker-Gurley, Jackson-Pender and Belom-Coerver triumphed in doubles.
"We played very well in both singles and doubles," CBA head coach Luke Vail said. "Our doubles play was our best of the season. I liked our consistency and patience in singles."
