North Duplin junior legion wins

TOPSAIL ISLAND -- Blake Rhodes turned in a five-hit outing and North Duplin hammered Topsail, 20-8, in a Junior American Legion baseball game Wednesday evening.
Rhodes doubled and drove in two runs. DJ Morrisey batted 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Dakota Boggs contributed two singles. Bryce Best added three hits and two RBI.
Charlie Mac Holloman, John Douglas Smith, Dustin Carter and Ethan Brock also played significant minutes in the double-digit road win.
Morrissey, Trey Pate and Mitchell Thigpen shared the pitching duties.
