MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive's Geno Escalante and Jacob Rogers have been named to the 2012 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America baseball team.

Escalante received first-team accolades, while Rogers was chosen to the second team. The duo helped the Trojans (44-10 overall) claim their third consecutive Conference Carolinas championship, and the No. 1 seed in the Southeast Regional.

A junior catcher from Fairfield, Calif., Escalante concluded the season with a school-record 46-game hitting streak -- tying him for the fourth-longest streak in Division II history. He led the country in hits, was seventh in batting with a .436 average and recorded at least one hit in 52 of 54 games played this past spring.

Rogers, a senior third baseman, was named the Conference Carolinas player-of-the-year after leading the nation in scoring with 86 runs to go along with 17 home runs. The Clearwater, Fla., native was among the nation's leaders in almost every offensive category and at one point was in the top 25 in 12 categories.
