GREENVILLE -- John Wooten matched his career high with a four-hit outing and Zach Wright swatted a home run during East Carolina's 13-1 thrashing of in-state rival High Point University on Tuesday evening.

It was the Pirates' regular-season home finale at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium.

East Carolina (33-19-1 overall) plated 13 runs during the first three innings.

Wooten singled during the opening and trotted home along with freshman Drew Reynolds on Wright's three-run blast off HPU starter Nick Schumacher. Wright moved into a tie for seventh place on the program's all-time home run list with 35.

The Pirates sent 10 batters to the plate and posted seven runs in the second inning. Reynolds kept the inning going with a two-run single up the middle to stake the Pirates to a seven-run lead. Wooten recorded another base knock to put runners at first and second before Corey Thompson's double to right center scored Reynolds.

Chase McDonald's RBI groundout to third and Jack Reinheimer's run-producing single to left rounded out the second-inning scoring.

East Carolina added three third-inning runs.

Mike Ussery reached on a fielding error, Tim Younger took first on a throwing error and Reynolds drew a free pass to load the bases for Wooten. The junior first baseman drove in two with a single to left. Thompson knocked in the Pirates' final run with a sharp single through the infield.

Six ECU hurlers combined for a two-hitter.

The Pirates conclude regular-season play with back-to-back road games against VMI and VCU on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
