Make it six.
After a majority of its scoring attack will graduate this season, the Mount Olive College men's basketball team continues to build its 2012 recruiting class.
Garett Burkhead is the newest addition.
The 6-foot-3 guard from Patterson Mill (Md.) High School has signed to play with the Trojans. A four-year starter, Burkhead earned first-team All-Upper Chesapeake Bay Conference honors each season. He holds the school's career scoring record with 1,249 points.
"Garett brings a unique game as a lefty slasher to our team and he shoots the ball really well from the perimeter," MOC head men's basketball coach Joey Higginbotham said. "He's a great kid and great student in the classroom who comes from a great family."
Burkhead also set school records for season average (17.9 points) and total points (484) during his senior campaign. Patterson Mill finished 23-4 overall and advanced to the state regional finals (the elite eight).
