Girls' soccer
Chargers drop pair on road
* DURHAM -- Wayne Country Day endured a 5-3 loss to The Elon School and a 3-1 setback against Trinity School of Durham-Chapel Hill over the weekend.
Junior Sarah Best handed out two assists and scored a goal against Elon. Mollie McDonald and Margaret Tanner punched in one goal apiece.
Best had the lone goal against Trinity.
The Chargers (1-2-0 overall) play host to East Wake Academy on Tuesday.
Golf
Lane Tree LGA
* Barbara Hill emerged the "Wearing of the Green" winner during play contested on the Lane Tree Golf Club links.
Rhonda Williams fired a 77 to win low gross and low net. Teresa Shearin captured low putts.
JV sports
* Baseball: C.B. Aycock 12, Cleveland 0 (5 innings) -- Logan Runyon and Jake Naughton combined for a no-hitter and four strikeouts. Garrett Joyner (two RBI), Tim Naughton (three RBI) and Jake Naughton (RBI) cranked out two hits apiece in the Golden Falcons' mercy rule-shortened win. Conner Crandall, Hank Smitherman, Noah West (RBI), Ben West (two RBI) and Ryan Davis each contributed one hit. C.B. Aycock (5-1 overall) travels to Eastern Wayne on Tuesday.
