Boys' basketball
Grace Christian 80, Wayne Christian 49
* RALEIGH -- Wayne Christian had it season come to a close with an 80-49 loss to Grace Christian of Raleigh in the first round of the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference boys' basketball tournament on Tuesday night.
Chase Darden poured in 30 points for the Eagles. Seth Slusher provided eight points. Both Darden and Slusher were selected to play in Saturday's CCC All-Star game at Grace Christian.
Middle schools
* Boys' basketball: Wayne Christian 48, Northwood Temple 28 -- Hunter Burt scored 14 points and Wayne Christian advanced to the semifinals of the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference tournament. The Eagles visit Neuse Charter on Thursday.
