Boys' basketball
Princeton 66, South Creek 55
* ROBERSONVILLE -- Dalvin Stancil scored 22 points and Princeton defeated South Creek 66-55 on Wednesday night in the finals of the South Creek Cougar Classic.
C.J. Jefferys, the tournament's Most Valuable Player, supplied 18 points for the Bulldogs. A.J. Smith contributed 12 points and was named to the all-tournament team. Aaron Simpkins had eight points. Princeton was 18 for 19 at the free throw line.
The Bulldogs (7-6) begin Carolina 1-A Conference play on Jan. 6 at home against Spring Creek.
JV sports
* Boys' basketball: Southern Wayne 56, Goldsboro 33 -- Xavier Pearsall scored 16 points for the Saints (13-1). Maurice Butler had 12 points. Southern Wayne will travel to Eastern Wayne on Tuesday.
