Days accounts for 4 TDs in Eastern Wayne road win

Eastern Wayne 33, North Lenoir 16

* LaGRANGE -- Tykwan Days had two rushing touchdowns and caught a pair of touchdown passes as Eastern Wanye concluded its regular season with a 33-16 win on Friday night at Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference rival North Lenoir.

Craig Smith's 3-yard touchdown run gave the Warriors a 7-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Days' 31-yard run pushed the lead to 14-0.

Alex Brownlee's 28-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Clark pulled the Hawks to within 14-7 just before halftime.

Days' 28-yard touchdown run stretched Eastern Wayne's advantage to 20-7 early in the third quarter. North Lenoir (1-9 overall, 0-6 ECC) cut the margin to 20-10 on Caleb Baird's 27-yard field goal.

Warriors' quarterback Jake Wiser tossed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Days toward the end of the third quarter as the lead grew to 26-10.

Brownlee's 5-yard touchdown pass to Devonte Sutton trimmed the deficit to 26-16. Wiser's 51-yard touchdown pass to Days with a little more than two minutes left in the game sealed the win for Warriors.

Days finished 84 yards rushing on seven carries and 103 yards receiving on four catches. Wiser was 6 for 12 passing for 135 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Eastern Wayne (3-7, 3-3) had 364 yards of total offense.

Brownlee completed 11 of 19 passes for 161 yards and two scores.

North Duplin 41, Spring Creek 6

* SEVEN SPRINGS -- Devin Oliver rushed for 198 yards and four touchdowns in North Duplin's 41-6 win over Spring Creek in Carolina 1-A Conference play Friday evening.

Oliver had touchdown runs of 42, 51 and 23 yards in the first quarter. The Gators (1-9 overall, 0-5 CC) pulled to within 20-6 on Luke Miller's 30-yard touchdown pass to Trey Hammonds. Oliver's final touchdown run of the game came from 21 yards out in the second quarter.

The Rebels' Tyler Royal had a 5-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter. Mitchell Thigpen added a 9-yard score.

North Duplin finished with 473 yards on the ground. Miller was 7 for 16 passing for 95 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for Spring Creek.

The Rebels improved to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in league play.

Wallace-Rose Hill 16, James Kenan 6

* WARSAW -- Unbeaten Wallace-Rose Hill used a safety and a 38-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to hold off James Kenan 16-6 and claim the Tri-County 1-A Conference championship Friday evening at Bill Taylor Field.

The Bulldogs (10-0 overall, 7-0 TCC) took a 7-0 lead in the second quarter on Traveon McKinzie's 8-yard score. The Tigers used a fake punt in the third quarter and Marcelias Sutton's 50-yard run set up quarterback Dominique Barnes' 1-yard score that cut the deficit to 7-6.

McKinzie recorded a safety fewer than five minutes into the fourth quarter. His 38-yard touchdown run with more than five minutes to play pushed the lead to 16-6.

After rushing for more than 340 yards in four of its past six games Kenan was held to 98 yards on 35 carries. The Tigers (6-4, 6-1) finished with 124 yards of total offense.

Raheim Phillips led Kenan's defense with 13 tackles and T.K. Owens had 11 stops. A.J. Frederick picked off two passes and Sutton had an interception.

Greene Central 53, Farmville Central 32

* SNOW HILL -- Greene Central racked up 442 yards of total offense and won a shootout 53-32 on Friday night over Eastern Plains 2-A Conference foe Farmville Central.

Rams' quarterback Rasheem Shackleford completed 4 of 11 passes for 110 yards and three touchdowns. He tossed two first quarter touchdown passes to Brandon Bishop. Shackleford's 9-yard touchdown run just before halftime increased Greene Central's lead to 19-12.

Tray Hill's 38-yard touchdown run in the third quarter extended Greene Central's advantage to 25-12. Hill led the Rams with 148 yards rushing on 14 carries.

Shackleford hooked up with Rashad Yelverton on a 42-yard pass for a score. Shackleford had an 8-yard scoring run at the end of the third quarter. Yelverton returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and Rodney Johnson added a late touchdown run.

The Rams improved to 5-5 overall.
