Goldsboro 3,
Rocky Mount Prep 0
* Goldsboro combined for 24 service aces as a team and swept visiting Rocky Mount Prep 25-20, 25-23, 25-12 on Tuesday evening.
Brandy Johnson led the Cougars with eight aces and Kasheika Wallace contributed five aces and four kills. Goldsboro improved its record to 3-4 and matched its combined win total from the past three seasons.
The Cougars visit Rocky Mount Prep tonight.
Faith Christian 3, Trinity 1
* Faith Christian earned its first win of the season with a 25-8, 25-17, 22-25, 25-15 home victory over N.C. Christian Schools Association 2-A Coastal foe Trinity Christian-Greenville on Tuesday evening.
Christina Powell distributed 13 assists and supplied five aces for the Conquerors. Meredith Clark provided seven kills and Hannah Stocks had seven aces. Elizabethe Weeks had six aces and Katie Watson added five aces. Faith finished with 29 aces as a team.
The Conquerors (1-1 overall, 1-0 NCCSA Coastal) entertain Berean on Sept. 13.
JV sports
* Volleyball: Faith Christian d. Trinity 9-25, 25-20, 25-18 -- Brooke Woodard led Faith with nine aces. The Conquerors play host to Berean on Sept. 13.
Middle schools
* Soccer: Brogden d. Eastern Wayne 4-2 -- Joshua Wilder scored two goals for Brogden (1-0-0 overall). Victor Ponce and Junior Mejia each added a goal. Daniel Kaspar scored both goals for Eastern Wayne. Christian Anderson and Chaz Daly each contributed an assist.
* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Dillard 25-11, 21-25, 14-25, 25-15, 15-12 -- Alanna Price contributed six aces for the Gators. Daisy Martinez added four digs, and Lexie Rogers had three aces and a kill. Spring Creek visits Rosewood on Thursday.
