GREENSBORO -- East All-Stars Jarran Reed logged seven tackles and Craig Murdock hauled in one reception during a 19-7 loss to the West All-Stars during the annual N.C. Coaches Association high school football showcase Wednesday evening.
Reed, a Goldsboro graduate, recorded four solo stops and three assists. Murdock, a Charles B. Aycock alum, picked up 17 receiving yards in the East's aerial attack.
Golden Falcons' head coach Randy Pinkowski served as an assistant on the East coaching staff.
Walter Ellerbe paced the East's ground game with 68 yards, including a third-quarter touchdown plunge from the 1-yard line. Quarterbacks Justin Rawles and Laron Ellerbe combined for 91 passing yards.
Brandon Wilson's 50-yard touchdown strike to John Knox II highlighted the West's 13-point, second-quarter outburst.
The West owned a 211-188 edge in total offense and forced three East turnovers, including two fumbles. The East team converted just one third down in 10 chances and scored once on two red-zone possessions.
