County rivals Wayne Christian and Wayne Country Day will meet in the opening round of the 2011 N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A baseball playoffs on Friday.
The eighth-seeded Eagles (10-8 overall) will entertain the ninth-seeded Chargers (12-9) at 7 p.m. It will be the first-ever postseason game played under the lights on Wayne Christian's diamond.
Wayne Christian won its seventh straight Carolina Christian Conference tournament title Monday.
WCDS concluded its season with back-to-back losses to 2010 state runner-up Greenfield and Faith Christian-Rocky Mount.
The Eagles and Chargers each reached the NCISAA Final Four a year ago, and both lost in semifinal-round play.
