GREENVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock sophomore Tara Simmons tied for 11th overall in the TGYA State Championship contested at Bradford Creek Golf Club.

Simmons recorded a two-day, 36-hole score of 154 -- eight strokes behind tournament winner Mallory Warrick, who plays for Wilson Fike. Warrick defeated Davidson's Katie Kirk on the second playoff hole.

Goldsboro's Wesley Simmons ended up 47th overall in the boys' event.

* 10-Under: Spring Creek 18, Princeton 6 -- Keonte Kittrell led the Gators on offense with 80 yards rushing and a touchdown. Jesse Casper added 79 yards rushing and hauled in a touchdown pass. Defensive standouts were Zach Plummer and Michael Russo. Spring Creek (4-0 overall) entertains Rosewood on Tuesday.

* 12-Under: Princeton 32, Spring Creek 20 -- Devonte Corum paced the Gators' attack with 106 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Ricky Steiner and Shykhym Allen combined for 86 yards rushing. Sterling Dodson recorded nine tackles, while Steiner and Corum logged four tackles apiece in the defeat. Spring Creek plays host to Rosewood on Tuesday.

* Rosewood 7, Princeton 6 -- Brian Melgar tallied the Little Eagles' lone touchdown and game-deciding extra point. Offensive standouts were Trent Lancaster, Amrie Atwell and Tristian Lauritzen. Defensive leaders were Atwell, Lancaster, Jack White, Hinton Cox and David Baker.

* 12-Under: C.B. Aycock 30, Eastern Wayne 6 -- Tyrique Ford, Cameron Kornegay and Jake Flowers provided the offense for the Little Falcons. Defensive standouts were Bradley Pate (two interceptions, including one returned for TD) and Chandler Matthews.
