LAURINBURG -- Conference Carolinas in-state rivals Mount Olive and St. Andrews misfired on a combined 39 shot attempts during their men's soccer contest Wednesday evening.

The 40th shot was the charm.

Frank Boateng's golden goal in the 105th minute lifted the Trojans to a 1-0, double-overtime victory over the Knights. MOC snapped its six-game skid and improved to 1-2-1 in overtime matches this season.

St. Andrews fell to 0-11 overall.

Mount Olive missed a shot wide midway through the second overtime, but won the ball back on a St. Andrews goal kick.

Scott Mitchell retrieved a loose ball in the right side of the box after it went off the Knights' goalkeeper. Mitchell crossed to Boateng, who scored in an empty net to end the match at 104 minutes, 21 seconds.

Goalkeepers from MOC and St. Andrews each recorded crucial saves to force the extra sessions.

Trojan keeper Shane Parman (five saves) made a diving save just inside the right post on Chris Weedon's breakaway in the 78th minute. Mount Olive had three shots from inside the box in the final 90 seconds of regulation, but one was blocked.
