Wesley Capps cranked out three hits, and Wayne County North pounded out a 15-4 victory over Snow Hill Post 94 in six innings on Friday evening.

Capps doubled and drove in two runs in three official at-bats. Nolan James (2 RBI) contributed two hits. Grayson Wells (2 RBI) and Benito Avila (2 RBI) each tripled.

Deric Grant went 2-for-3 at the plate for Snow Hill.

James drew the mound assignment for WC North and surrendered four runs (three earned) on three hits in two innings of work. Logan Wicks and Jake May combined for four innings of three-hit, scoreless relief.

WC North (7-5 overall) entertains Hunt today. The doubleheader begins at noon at Eastern Wayne High School.

Golf

Brashears ace

John Brashears recorded his first-ever hole-in-one while playing at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course.

Brashears used a 6-iron to hole out on the par-3, No. 16 layout.

Playing partners John Dees, Jimmy Hoskins, Jeff Hendricks and Steve Hendricks witnessed the feat.
