Murphy Honored

Mount Olive College sophomore Joey Murphy has been named the Conference Carolinas men's field athlete-of-the-week. Competing against a predominantly Division I field, Murphy ended up eighth overall among 21 participants in the javelin during the Duke University Invitational. He became the first-ever MOC athlete in program history to exceed the 50-meter mark, recording a distance of 52.10 meters. The throw broke his own school record by three meters.
