FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University sophomore Brittani Billups has earned a second-team spot on the 2009-10 All-Independent women's basketball squad.
An Eastern Wayne alum, Billups emerged the Lancers' second-leading scorer with 11 points this season. The sophomore averaged a team-best 5.2 rebounds, blocked 35 shots and shot 44.7 percent from the floor.
Billups posted career highs of 25 points against Troy and 17 rebounds against Savannah State. She notched three double-doubles during the season and 16 double-digit scoring games.
Longwood concluded its season 9-20 overall.
