Opinion -- MOC students, here is your chance to shine

Just hours before the Trojan men's basketball team played its annual Green-White game, second-year head coach Joey Higginbotham fired off an email saying he'd like to see students at the game.
The MOC alum went one step further. Higginbotham painted his face green and white, wore a jersey and got his lone chance to truly interact with the students -- as a fan.
MOC students, now it's your turn to pay back Higginbotham.
And Thursday night is the perfect time.
Archrival Barton College comes calling with first place in Conference Carolinas play at stake. These two teams have staged some classic affairs over the past two decades, and definitely plenty of memorable, heart-stopping moments on the Trojans' homecourt.
One thing has been lacking this season -- enthusiasm.
Why?
Where have you guys been? I haven't seen much of the Kornegay Krazies, who have proven to be a perfect "sixth man" for the cozy confines of Kornegay Arena. The noise they provide is deafening, especially since they're right on top of the action.
That clamor is needed Thursday.
It seems each year the entire and boisterous Barton community overflows Kornegay Arena, but you can see a few open seats scattered on MOC's side of the court. This is just one of many chances you -- the student-athletes -- have to close the books, turn off the iPods, hold off texting friends and have some fun for a couple of hours as you show your support for the green and white.
The players deserve it.
The coaching staff deserves it.
The rivalry deserves it.
MOC-Barton ... it doesn't get any better than this.
