ROCKY MOUNT -- LeeRon Boykin and Cameron Deaver, a pair of former James Kenan standouts, have been named to the 2009 NCAA Division III All-South Region team.

Boykin, a senior who also earned honorable mention All-American status, helped North Carolina Wesleyan finish 8-3 overall and emerged the USA South Conference champions with a 7-0 worksheet. NCWC earned their second NCAA tournament berth in the program's six-year history.

A Warsaw native, Boykin led the Battling Bishops and the USA South this fall in tackles-for-loss and sacks en route to Defensive Player of the Year honors in the league. He tallied 20.5 tackles for a total loss of 101 yards and 12.0 sacks for a total loss of 78 yards, both of which are new program records. Boykin also added 56 total tackles and tied for the most fumbles forced with three. This season marked the third consecutive first-team All-Conference honor for Boykin, the program's first and only All-American (2007, 2009).

Joining Boykin on the All-Region squad was sophomore center Deaver (Kenansville) as a second-team selection and junior guard Anthony Moore (Portsmouth, Va.) as a third-team pick. Senior safey Quentin Pope (Charlotte) rounded out Wesleyan's honorees.
