East Carolina players earn All-CUSA honors

GREENVILLE -- Conference USA champion East Carolina led the CUSA all-conference football team, placing seven players on the first team and earning 12 total selections.
The Pirates' first-team selections include four defensive starters. Defensive linemen Linval Joseph and C.J. Wilson are joined by defensive backs Emanuel Davis and Van Eskridge. Eskridge, who had two interceptions against Houston, has been selected to play in the 85th annual East-West Shrine Game scheduled for Jan. 23, 2010 in Orlando.
Offensive lineman Sean Allen and punter Matt Dodge earned first-team honors. Dwayne Harris, the CUSA championship game MVP, was named a first-team wide receiver and second-team kick returner.
Second-team picks for the Pirates were offensive lineman Terence Campbell, linebacker Nick Johnson and place-kicker Ben Hartman.
ECU defensive lineman Michael Brooks was selected for the CUSA All-Freshman team.
The Pirates (9-4 overall) seek their first 10-win season since 1991 when they face Arkansas in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2.
