NCHSAA - Simmons shares 4th overall

SOUTHERN PINES -- Charles B. Aycock's Tara Simmons and Eastern Wayne's Jasmine Reeves finished among the state's top 11 competitors in the season-ending N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A/2-A/3-A women's golf championships.
Simmons carded a two-day round of 154 and ended up tied for fourth on the par-71, Longleaf Golf and Country Club links. Reeves, in her final high school match, placed 11th overall with a 36-hole score of 166.
Reeves shaved six strokes off her first-round result.
West Henderson's Kayla Scuipider emerged the individual champion with a two-day total of 149. Scuipider and her teammates also captured the team title with a come-from-behind victory over Salisbury 509-518.
Salisbury held a seven-stroke lead after the first day.
