LUMBERTON -- Wayne Christian's Jennifer Price was the top female runner in the Cougar Classic at Luther Britt Park on Saturday morning.
Price finished first in a time of 22 minutes, 54 seconds. The Eagles' Kayla Kennedy was sixth in a time of 27:55 and Christina Foster crossed the line in seventh after comleting the course in 28:33.
Wayne Christian's Connor Jones came home second on the boys' side with a time of 18:27. The Eagles' Mark Sawyer was eighth in 20:03 and Will Massey (22:04) finished in 14th.
Volleyball
Eagles stumble
Wilson Christian defeated Wayne Christian 25-10, 25-20, 25-10 on Friday.
Jessica Swets had seven kills for the Eagles and Brittney O'Hara provided five kills. Katie Isenhower contributed 10 digs and Hanna Kaler handed out 15 assists.
The Eagles (13-5 overall) entertain Cape Fear Christian today.
