WILSON -- Jasmine Reeves fired a school-record, 2-under 69 and claimed medalist honors during a non-conference girls' golf match Wednesday afternoon at Willow Springs Country Club.

Reeves broke Eastern Wayne's school record of 71 set by Ginni Jo Sutton in 2000. Teammate Emily Deal carded a 114 and Marissa Williams turned in an 18-hole score of 124 to complete the Warriors' 307.

New Bern won the meet with a 258.

Eastern Wayne returns to action Monday in an Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference match at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Club.

Soccer

Aycock rolls

Juan Pina scored in the second minute and Charles B. Aycock rolled to a 7-1, non-conference victory over Rosewood at Branch Pope Field.

Pina finished with two goals. Jose Rodriguez, Blake Vail, Chama Rodriguez, Chase Thompson and Travis Musselman also scored for the Golden Falcons.

Aycock (7-1-1 overall) begins defense of its Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference crown Monday at North Lenoir.

Tennis

Rams cruise

WILSON -- Greene Central faced little opposition from host Greenfield in a 9-0, non-conference win on Wednesday afternoon.

Lauren Carraway improved to 9-5 overall with a victory at the number one singles position. Elizabeth McLawhorn, Samantha Taylor, Jessica Gray, Abby Sugg and Abbey Dail each earned a singles point respectively.

The duos of Carraway-McLawhorn, Taylor-Gray and Brittany Coley-Hayes Lovett each prevailed in doubles action.

"Lovett and Coley played their best doubles of the season," said Rams head coach Donald Clark. "They fell behind 3-2 but rallied to win six out of the final seven points."

Greene Central (9-5 overall) entertains Wilson Beddingfield today at 4 p.m.

Volleyball

Rebels down Tigers

WARSAW -- North Duplin got its offense rolling early en route to a 25-15, 25-8, 25-18 victory over James Kenan on Wednesday.

Tearra Ammons led the Rebels with seven service aces and 10 kills. Hannah Brock recorded 14 assists, while teammate Angelica Favela tallied three digs.

North Duplin (4-3 overall) will host Carolina 1-A Conference foe Princeton today.

Cross country

Falcons soar

LaGRANGE -- Charles B. Aycock swept the top five positions and recorded a perfect team score of 15 as it raced past North Lenoir and South Johnston in a girls' cross country meet Tuesday.

Caroline Schlaeppi finished first overall in 27 minutes and five seconds. Kendra Speight (27:14), Jessica Kyer (28:31), Courtney McGowan (30:27) and Taylor Allen (31:01) rounded out the top five for the Golden Falcons.

Kayla Letchworth paced the Hawks with a time of 31:03.

JV sports

* Volleyball: Princeton d. Spring Creek 25-4, 25-16 -- Ashleigh Mayes led the Dawgs with five service aces. Amber Hill tallied one kill and Linda Smith carded one assist.

* North Duplin d. James Kenan 25-22, 15-25, 25-19 -- Jessica Jones led the Rebels with seven kills and one block. Ansley Hill delivered eight aces and dished out 10 assists.

* Soccer: Wayne Country Day 1, Ridgecroft 1 -- Connor Mahoney tallied the only goal for the Chargers.
