BANNER ELK -- Christiane Maul made her collegiate debut during the Carolina Classic this weekend, but Mount Olive returned home with three losses on the volleyball court.

The Trojans suffered losses against South Atlantic Conference members Carson-Newman, Lincoln Memorial and Tusculum (Tenn.). Mount Olive looks to snap its nine-game skid at home Tuesday against Coker (S.C.) College.

First serve is 7 p.m. at Kornegay Arena.

Maul delivered a nine-kill, two-block effort in Friday's opening-round match against Carson-Newman. A junior transfer, Maul was declared eligible by the NCAA after it received school transcripts from her native Germany.

Caitlin Skislak collected 10 kills, while setter Joanie Werling dished out 36 assists in the three-set loss.

Maul finished with nine kills in a three-set loss to Lincoln Memorial. Alicia Mote contributed seven kills and eight digs. Destiny Ma'ave-Kuewa recorded 26 assists in place of Werling, who sat out with flu-like symptoms.

The Trojans (0-8 overall) dropped a three-set decision to Tusculum early Saturday morning. The Pioneers picked up their second victory over the Trojans in a week.
