PIKEVILLE -- Aaron Champion permitted one hit in a complete-game effort as Charles B. Aycock hammered South Johnston 20-0 on the Junior American Legion baseball scene Wednesday evening.
Officials halted the contest after 41/2 innings due to the mercy rule.
Champion logged four strikeouts and didn't walk a South Johnston batter.
Adam Pate cranked out two doubles in a 3-for-4 performance. Cameron Taylor batted 2-for-3. Jon Taylor and Collin DuBose each collected a double.
Aycock (19-3 overall) returns to action Monday at Rocky Mount.
