Wayne Christian concluded its regular-season varsity softball slate with a 13-9, non-conference loss against Wilson Christian on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles owned a decisive 13-2 edge in hits.
However, Wilson Christian benefited from 13 walks and plated 11 unearned runs.
Carly Hightower powered Wayne Christian's offense with a 4-for-4 effort, including two doubles and a triple. Reagan Hinton doubled in a 3-for-4 showing. First baseman Sarah McCullom batted 2-for-4 with a double. Kayla Kennedy contributed three hits, including a double and triple.
Wayne Christian (4-5 overall) faces either Crossroads Christian or Cresset Christian in Carolina Christian 1-A Conference tournament play Tuesday. The game will be played at Community Christian in Wilson.
