CLEMMONS -- Fabrizio Ceppi and Pete Skirpstas both shot even par 72 and Mount Olive vaulted into sixth place on day two of the 2009 Carolinas Conference men's golf championships.
Skirpstas has a two-day total of 2-over par 146 and is tied for sixth in individual play. Ceppi (153) jumped 20 spots on the leaderboard after an opening-round 81.
Ryan Campbell (152) is tied for 23rd, while Riley Boyette (154) is tied for 30th. Scott Woodard (159) is tied for 42nd.
The Trojans carded the lowest team score (293) of the day and share sixth place with in-state rival Pfeiffer University. The duo trails Anderson by one stroke.
Barton leads the field with a 587.
On the women's side, Kristin Moberg fired a second-round 77 and is eighth overall among the individual leaders with a 36-hole score of 160. Tegan Skirpstas (172) is 18th, while conference freshman-of-the-year Valentina Urquiola (178) is tied for 23rd.
Deborah Woodrum (187) and Brooke Newell (200) are 29th and 31st, respectively.
Mount Olive sliced nine strokes off its opening-round team score and has a two-day total of 697. Pfeiffer leads the field with a 636, while Queens is six strokes back in second place.
The 54-hole event concludes today at Tanglewood Park.
