Brooke Norris and eighth-grader Sarah Best provided the offense as No. 1-ranked Wayne Country Day stopped the Epiphany School 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
Norris tallied her ninth goal of the season, an indirect kick, off Catherine Ford's assist in the 31st minute. Best collected an unassisted goal in the 67th minute.
Senior keeper Ellen Elmore earned her sixth shutout of the season.
"We played a solid match today," said WCDS head coach Baron Heinemann. "It has been a week since our last game and (we took) five days off from practice. I think this slowed us down a bit. We didn't seem to have the same fluid style that we've had in recent games."
Heinemann praised the effort of defender Danielle Holland and sweeper Shelle Anderson. The Chargers have outscored their opponents 35-4 this season.
Wayne Country Day (11-0-0 overall) travels to Faith Christian-Rocky Mount on Tuesday.
