CALYPSO --Wallace Rose-Hill handed North Duplin a 9-3, non-conference loss on the baseball diamond.

Marcus Kornegay went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and three stolen bases for the Rebels. James Kornegay provided a hit, two RBI and one stolen base.

Ryan Wolfe endured the pitching loss.

North Duplin (3-7) opens Carolina 1-A Conference play at North Johnston on Tuesday.

Lane Tree LGA

Sherry Minner emerged the game-of-the-week winner during tournament play at Lane Tree Golf Club.

Nan Jarrell won low putts and low net.

* Baseball: Charles B. Aycock 5, Wilson Hunt 1 -- Travis Musselman and Collin DuBose pounded out two hits apiece during the Golden Falcons' victory. Jeff Davis finished with one hit and one RBI. Aaron Champion earned the mound win.
