CBA tennis routs Fike

PIKEVILLE -- Second-seeded Addison Westbrook and fifth-seeded Rawad Alawar each posted a straight-set shutout during Charles B. Aycock's 9-0, non-conference thrashing of Wilson Fike on Wednesday afternoon.
Top-seeded Blake Vail, the two-time defending Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference singles champion, claimed a 6-1, 6-0 decision. Third-seeded Ben Nichols, fourth-seeded Dylan Quinn and sixth-seeded Kareem Alawar each earned a singles point.
Vail-Quinn, Westbrook-Nichols, R. Alawar-K. Alawar also prevailed in their respective doubles matches.
The No. 5-ranked Golden Falcons (6-1 overall) continue defense of their ECC regular-season title today at Wilson Beddingfield. Weather permitting, first serve is at 4 p.m.
Fike fell to 3-4 overall.
