MISENHEIMER -- Jasmine Whitby flirted with a triple-double -- career-high 28 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals -- during Mount Olive's 84-73 conquest of Conference Carolinas women's basketball rival Pfeiffer University.

Whitby, who also dished out a team-high five assists, converted 10 of 19 shots from the floor and was 7 of 8 at the free throw line. Tomeka Prichard chipped in a career-best 24 points for the Trojans, who claimed their third consecutive victory of the season.

Brittany Miller and Brittney Robich provided 10 points apiece for Mount Olive, which improved to 9-3 overall and 5-2 against conference opposition. Robich and Prichard each handed out four assists.

Mount Olive seized a 15-point lead in the opening half, only to see Pfeiffer go into the locker room with a 40-38 advantage at the break. Whitby said a lack of focus allowed the Falcons to climb back into the game.

"I think we might have relaxed a little after we got the big lead and we lost focus," said Whitby, a transfer from Louisburg College. "At halftime, we talked about getting refocused and playing better defense."

The Falcons tallied the first five points of the second half to complete a 14-0 run and grab their biggest lead at 45-38. But the Trojans used a run of their own to retake a lead they'd never relinquish.

Prichard hit a pair of free throws and Whitby put back her own missed shot to pull the Trojans within one. After a Pfeiffer turnover, Whitby put Mount Olive back on top 46-45 with 15:34 remaining.

The Trojans led the rest of the way.

Turnovers plagued both teams, but the Trojans won the battle converting the miscues into points. MOC collected 40 points off 33 Pfeiffer miscues, while the Falcons tallied just 13 points off 24 Trojan errors.
