CALYPSO -- North Duplin appears to be peaking at the right time.

The Rebels grabbed a 21-0, first-quarter lead against Spring Creek to a 48-6 victory at H.E. Grubbs Field on Friday evening.

It was the Class 1-A Carolina Conference regular-season finale for both teams.

Devin Oliver and Akeem Cox each scored first-quarter touchdowns, and Quentin Graham hauled in a 47-yard pass for a score.

North Duplin quarterback Marcus Kornegay tacked on a 1-yard touchdown run early in the second period, and connected with Graham on a 73-yard touchdown pass before halftime.

Graham caught five passes for 163 yards and two scores. Kornegay was 10 for 16 through the air for 230 yards and two touchdowns.

Cox added a 4-yard score in the third quarter and Michael Warren's 1-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the fourth quarter capped the Rebels' scoring. Cox, the area's leading rusher, compiled 117 yards and two touchdowns and Oliver contributed 135 yards and a score.

North Duplin (5-6 overall, 3-2 Carolina) racked up a season-high 532 yards of total offense.

Ricky Brayboy's 21-yard score late in the third quarter was the Gators' lone touchdown.

Spring Creek (0-11, 0-5) managed just 11 yards passing and accumulated just 177 total yards. The Gators lost four fumbles and yielded an interception.

DeVonte Harris paced Spring Creek's offense with 111 yards on 15 carries. It was Harris' third consecutive 100-yard game, the most by a Gators' underclassman in the program's eight-year history.

Spring Creek finished with 166 yards rushing.
