Wayne Country Day's Bridgette Briggs and Brooke Norris have been selected to play for the Classes 1-A/2-A team in the 2008 Oasis All-Star Volleyball Game, which is sponsored by the Oasis Shriners.
Briggs and Norris helped lead the Chargers to a final four appearance in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 1-A playoffs less than two weeks ago. WCDS finished 19-5 overall and shared the Coastal Plains Independent Conference regular-season crown with Kerr-Vance Academy.
Norris grabbed the CPIC player of the year honors and earned a spot along with Briggs on the NCISAA 1-A all-state team.
The All-Star game, which pits 1-A/2-A players against 3-A players, is scheduled for Nov. 15 at Covenant Day School in Matthews. First serve is noon.
