MOUNT OLIVE -- Lyndsay Brennan, welcome to the Century Club.

A senior, Brennan collected a goal and an assist as Mount Olive College defeated Southern Virginia 3-0 at Amon Field on Monday. Brennan, who hails from Springfield, Va., became the third player in program history to reach the 100-point plateau.

Brennan has 39 career goals and 22 career assists. She is one point away from tying April Jacobs for second place on the Trojan career points list. Gina Dos Santos holds the school record with 123 career points. Brennan is second behind Dos Santos in career goals and is in fifth place in career assists.

Alyecia Higgins opened the Trojans' scoring in the 11th minute off an assist from Cara Paxon. Brennan asisted Jackie Jimenez in the 48th minute and scored on Marie Richters' assist in the 89th minute.

Mount Olive, which won its second straight game, owned a decisive 22-3 edge in shots. Keepers Lyndsey McIntyre (two saves) and Ashley Crompton combined for the shutout in goal.

"We had a rough start this season, but we've got two wins in a row now," said Brennan. "We play our next two at home, so we hope we can make it four in a row."

The Trojans (4-10-0 overall) entertain Coker (S.C.) College on Wednesday. Kickoff is 4 p.m. at Amon Field.

Men's golf

CHARLOTTE -- Scott Woodard is tied for 16th individually and Mount Olive is 12th as team after opening-round play of the Queens University Men's Golf Invitational.

Woodard, from Princeton, fired a 1-over-par 73 after shooting even par on the first nine holes. Pete Skirpstas, who was also even on the front nine, ended up tied for 26th at 4-over par 75. Ryan Campbell is tied for 54th, while Riley Boyette is tied for 70th.

The No. 18-ranked Trojans carded a four-player total of 306.
