CLINTON -- Once-beaten Super Six 1-A Conference member Union dealt Spring Creek a 48-0 setback in non-conference play Friday evening.
The Spartans held the Gators to minus-24 yards of total offense.
"It was what it was," said Spring Creek head coach Aaron Sanders. "They're athletic and I expected that going into the game. Last night was disappointing, but I thought our kids played hard.
"I'm excited and looking forward to conference play."
Dylan Whitley emerged Spring Creek's top rusher with 11 yards on seven carries.
Defensively, sophomore defensive back Raul Fuentes recorded a team-high four tackles. Senior linebacker Paul Hayes and James Millard posted three stops apiece.
Kevin Lipscomb recovered a fumble.
Spring Creek (0-6 overall) entertains Princeton in the Carolina 1-A Conference opener for both teams next Friday. Union (5-1) begins its conference slate at unbeaten and state-ranked Midway.
Both games kick off at 7:30 p.m.
