TRENTON -- Rosewood High traveled to Jones Senior on Friday evening and the No. 8-ranked Trojans prevailed 56-0 in a game that was never close.

Jones Senior (5-1 overall) scored on seven of nine first-half possessions, including three touchdowns on its first seven plays. The Trojans out-gained Rosewood 423-2 in the first half and looked nearly as dominant the rest of the way, tallying 494 total yards to the Eagles' minus-5.

The Trojans led 28-0 after the first quarter and 50-0 at the half.

"We played a complete game tonight," said Jones Senior coach Greg Hampton. "It was an outstanding football game."

Senior quarterback Corvair Frost accounted for five total touchdowns, running for 176 yards and two touchdowns, including an 84-yard scamper in the second quarter. He threw for three more touchdowns on 5 of 12 passing for 140 yards. He finished with 316 all-purpose yards.

"I knew we were going to be ready," said Frost. "Coach pushed us all week in practice, and we came out to play like we were supposed to play."

Frost completed touchdown passes to Vataughan Foy (two catches, 88 yards) Robbie Scott (two catches, 25 yards) and Thomas Fryar (two catches, 66 yards).

Senior Robert Williams added a 70-yard first-quarter touchdown run and had 86 rushing yards. Marquis Boomer ran for a 6-yard score in the first and had 10 yards on two carries.

Darius Andrews' 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the lone score of the second half.

The Eagles had one scoring opportunity with 26 seconds left in the game when the Trojans lost the ball on their own 1-yard line on a botched punt. Rosewood, in a fitting end to an abysmal night, fumbled the ball right back to the Trojans on their first play to finish the game.

Eric Martel led the Eagles' rushing attack with 11 yards on three carries.

"It's hard to take anything positive from a game like this," said Rosewood coach Robert Britt, whose team fell to 1-5. "There was no moral victory tonight. We just have to work hard to get better for the five games we have left."

Jones Senior begins its Class 1-A Coastal Plains Conference season Friday at Camp Lejeune. Rosewood starts its Carolina 1-A Conference campaign at home against Ayden-Grifton.
