Trojans men fall to Anderson

Angelo Acquah and Dante Dixon scored goals nine minutes apart late in the match to cut a four-goal deficit in half, but the rally came up short as regionally 10th-ranked Mount Olive fell to Anderson 4-2 in Conference Carolinas men's soccer Saturday at Anderson, S.C. Anderson scored goals in the first minute of each half to snap the Trojans' two-match winning streak.
Mount Olive, scored its two goals in a nine-minute span. Angelo Acquah intercepted a pass and rolled the ball into the AU net at 63:58, and Dante Dixon scored off an assist from Jason Lindberg at 72:10.
Anderson, (4-3-2 overall, 2-0-2) in the conference, got two goals from Kevin Valkenburg, one goal and one assist from Lasse Sohrweide, and two assists from Lahnden Onger to stay unbeaten in conference play.
Anderson scored its first goal just 55 seconds into the match when Josh Nguyen play the ball ahead to Valkenburg, who scored on a breakaway. Anderson's second goal came at 10:57 when Onger pushed a pass to Sohrweide, who scored from point-blank range.
Anderson increased its lead to 3-0 just 32 seconds into the second half when Onger found Valkenburg, who hit the post then scored on the rebound. Adrien Moufflet scored Anderson's final goal at 54:40.
Anderson outshot Mount Olive, 19-8.
