MISENHEIMER -- Nia Celata curled in a late second-half corner kick, but in-state rival Pfeiffer University prevailed 3-1 in their Conference Carolinas women's soccer contest Monday afternoon.

The Falcons snapped a five-game skid against the Trojans.

Pfeiffer (4-2-0, 2-0-0 CC) broke the tie with less than three minutes left in the half when Kirsten Bartsch crossed to a wide open Megan Reaves in front of the left post to give the Falcons a 1-0 halftime lead. Reaves made the score 2-0 exactly two minutes into the second half after a foul in the Trojan box set up a penalty kick.

Mount Olive (0-6-0, 0-2-0) broke a two-match scoreless drought when Celata forced a corner kick from the left corner. Celata took the corner kick and the ball bent inside the far post untouched to pull the Trojans within 2-1 in the 76th minute. But Pfeiffer answered in the 85th minute when Megan Blevins' service led Sara McCormack to a breakaway goal.

Trojan goalkeeper Lyndsey McIntyre recorded six saves, while Hinman finished with three saves.
